Performances

Mythological Motherhood:

Developed in response to a call for performances for the Undisciplining Dance Symposium at The Auckland University, we proposed to get together weekly at Wellesley Studios and see what happened.

Eventually Clare and I found that we were developing themes around motherhood, what this experience was for us and how this could be played with, explored and questioned through a movement practice that involved contact improvisation, releasing technique, object manipulation, hands on body work, spiraling stretching sequences, emotional movement investigation and a whole lot of other scary stuff.

We developed three small performances out of this extreme amount of material and decided to place them within the 'in-between' spaces of the symposium, between lectures and between rooms and people.

More to come about this soon...
